my memory blog!
In class I brought in my mothers old work badge. It has been sitting in my jewelry box forever. Every once in a while I come across it, and it brings back so many different memory's. I lost my mother to cancer when I was ten years old. It shook my world. I had a wonderful mother who always put my brothers and my needs first. She was my whole world. Needless to say my life was very different after she pasted away.
However, I have so many wonderful memory's of her. I remember when she would come home from work and I would sit on her lap. She would tell me how much she missed me when she was gone. She always had a way of making me feel like I was her favorite. She always would bring us treats that where left over from the NCO club. My family would sit around and try all the different deserts she brought home. We sit around and would talk about what was going in our lives.
She had a way about her that everyone liked. My mother was a woman that people loved to talk too as well, you could meet her for the first time and tell her everything. I know if she was still living I would be a different version of myself. My father tells me that I am a lot like her. I do wish that I was able to know her as an adult. I have so many more thoughts that I could write about her.
Even though I didn't have my mother with me for long. I carry her memory with me always! She made such a huge impact on my life in the short time that we shared together. I know that she is with me always and that brings me peace.

It is amazing how we both have lost are moms to breast cancer. I miss my mom, I'm sure like you do and have expressed in your memory blog. Mom's are so important and they definitely impact our lives in a way I don't believe anyone has been able to express. Yes they give unconditional, never ending love, but they do so much more than just care and raise their children. They are our cheerleaders, they cheer us on when we need it, build our self esteem, encourage us when we have doubt and give us hope and motivation for our future. Mom's are precious, so if anyone is blessed to still have one in their lives, never take them for granted.
ReplyDeleteI believe that you are more like your mother than you think. Whenever we talk it seems as if I've known you for years. I'm sure your Mom is very proud of how you've turned out.
ReplyDeleteI like your nametag story - it is so funny how it is the little things that make such an impact and a special memory. I know you will treasure that.
